CCF Compassion

Weekly Service Events

Each week, students can volunteer their time and talents through compassion events with CCF. There are several, weekly service opportunities listed below, as well as other compassion events and compassion trips throughout each semester! Read below to find out about weekly service opportunities in the Atlanta area, and check out the Compassion page for more information on service trips, compassion weeks, and other annual events! If you see something you like, fill out the compassion form and an intern will get back with you!

Mondays

3:00 - 4:30pm | Bearings Bike Shop

Join us as we help children learn to fix bikes and encourage them as they learn the skill and value of hard work!

For more information, contact Noah Giles or Melinda Smith.

4:30 - 6:00pm | Gardening Project

Practice using your green thumb as we assist a local Atlanta community garden to help individuals of all ages learn sustainable agriculture.

For more information, contact Joy Armstrong or Kaleigh Watters.

Tuesdays

1:30pm - 3:00pm | Bearings Bike Shop

Join us as we help children learn to fix bikes and encourage them as they learn the skill and value of hard work, again on Tuesdays!

For more information, contact Noah Giles or Matt Bower.

3:00 - 4:30pm | Elementary School Tutoring

By helping tutor students, you get an opportunity to invest in local elementary school students through helping with homework, reading stories, and playing games with the kids.

For more information, contact Marc Smith.

6:00 - 8:00pm | Dinner at Wachovia Park

Help to cook a meal with us at CCF to share with our friends at Wachovia Park. By sharing a weekly dinner with our neighbors from the street, we work to show love to all those around us.

For more information, contact Noah Giles or Kaleigh Watters.

Wednesdays

12:00 - 2:00pm | Knit-A-Square

Join us as we knit or crochet small squares to make blankets for orphans and vulnerable children in South Africa. Many of these children are suffering with HIV, which makes staying warm even more crucial for their health. Don’t know how to knit? No problem; we’ll teach you!

For more information, contact David English.

Thursdays

11:00 - 12:30pm | ReMerge & Art

Every Thursday, we head over to ReMerge (formerly known as Church on the Street) to share lunch and build relationships. Through sharing a meal with our most vulnerable neighbors, the homeless of Atlanta, we foster intentional and diverse Christian communities where everyone is welcome.

For more information, contact Joy Armstrong or Brooke Beatty.

3:00 - 4:30pm | Making Sandwiches at CCF

On Thursdays, we meet at the CCF house and make sandwiches for our friends on the streets.

For more information, contact David English.

Fridays

1:30pm - 3:00pm | Bearings Bike Shop

Join us as we help children learn to fix bikes and encourage them as they learn the skill and value of hard work, again on Fridays!

For more information, contact Noah Giles or Matt Bower.
